Abstract—This correspondence introduces a new text-independent speaker verification method, which is derived from the basic idea of pattern recognition that the discriminating ability of a classifier can be improved by removing the common information between classes. In looking for the common speech characteristics between a group of speakers, a global speaker model can be established. By subtracting the score acquired from this model, the conventional likelihood score is normalized with the consequence of more compact score distribution and lower equal error rates. Several experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A novel text-independent speaker verification method using the global speaker model
In this paper a new text-independent speaker verification method is proposed based on likelihood score normalization and the global speaker model, which is established to represent the universal features of speech and environment, and to normalize the likelihood score. As a result the equal error rates are decreased significantly, verification procedure is accelerated and system adaptability is...
متن کاملText-Independent Speaker Verification Using 3D Convolutional Neural Networks
In this paper, a novel method using 3D Convolutional Neural Network (3D-CNN) architecture has been proposed for speaker verification in the text-independent setting. At the development phase, a CNN is trained to classify speakers at the utterance-level. In the enrollment stage, the trained network is utilized to directly create a speaker model for each speaker based on the extracted features. F...
متن کاملFactor analysis based channel compensation in speaker verification
This report describes a powerful channel compensation method for the text-independent speaker verification task. This powerful method is developed in the LRDE Speaker Verification framework. The purpose of a text-independent speaker verification system is to check whether a hypothesised speaker is really the author of a speech utterance. The channel compensation problem arises when training dat...
متن کاملBayesian Approach to Text-independent Speaker Verification
In this paper, we propose a novel approach to speaker verification. One of the problems in conventional speaker verificaion techniques based on the likelihood ratio test (LRT) is that the detection performance varies widely for each hypothesized speaker when the decision threshold is held fixed. In order to cope with the problem, we incorporate the distribution of the log likelihood ratio (LLR)...
متن کاملText-Independent Speaker Verification via State Alignment
To model the speech utterance at a finer granularity, this paper presents a novel state-alignment based supervector modeling method for text-independent speaker verification, which takes advantage of state-alignment method used in hidden Markov model (HMM) based acoustic modeling in speech recognition. By this way, the proposed modeling method can convert a text-independent speaker verification...
